Terre di Varano Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Terre di Varano Extra Virgin Olive Oil is grown, milled and bottled on the farm Azienda Agricola Terre di Varano which is located in the village of Catignano in the Provence of Pescara, Abruzzo. As all of this work is done at the source, we have achieved a 0 km supply chain effect.
Catignano is located in the countryside at the foot of the Majella Mountains and Gran Sasso plains. The farm is located on 28 acres of land, at an elevation of 1200 feet and only 20 miles from the Adriatic Sea. The proximity to the mountains and the sea, create a wonderful micro-climate that compliments the rich agricultural qualities of the olive trees.
Variety: Leccio del Corno, Cerasuola and Frantoio
Harvest Period: Late November, early December
Harvest and Processing: Harvested by hand and milled on site within just a few hours
Characteristics: Very green color with intense aromatic notes of fruity herbs and green almond.
Long spicy finish with hints of green tomatoes
